Owls at Forest School - Week 3

Forest School began this week with a gentle stroll.  This gave us time to notice and talk about the many different signs of nature just around the edge of the school field.

There was so much to take in; spiders on their delicate webs, busy bees and wasps, colourful berries, lots of bright yellow dandelions, and even ivy flowers. We learnt that ivy flowers are a vital food source for insects at this time of year as summer flowers die off.
Once in the Forest School site we talked about how wonderfully different we all are and, using natural resources, we each created a portrait of 'me' which were all unique! Take a look below at some of our wonderful creations!

We then had time to initiate our own activities which ranged from digging, den building, watching dragonflies by the pond to bug hunting!
