School Meals AND MILK
With effect from Tuesday 18th January, our caterers, Twelve15, will be providing a packed lunch each day to children, due to the difficulty in recruiting catering staff. We are putting pressure on Twelve15 to return to a hot meal service as soon as possible.
The packed lunches consist of a filled roll, crudites, a handheld pudding or yoghurt and a piece of fruit.
School lunches and meal choices can be ordered online at www.scopay.com/stjames-elstead. Parents are issued with a unique user code for access to this facility on their child's admission to school.
Please click here for details of the packed lunch menu to enable you to make the best meal choice for your child.
The school can order a fixed pattern of meals for your child, whether this be every day or a part-time pattern. If you would like to order meals on an ad-hoc basis, please contact the school office for further information on how to do this.
You can order, amend or delete meal choices up to midnight before a meal is taken. However, the fixed pattern will continue until you notify the school office otherwise.
Special Dietary Requirements
Twelve15 can cater for many special dietary needs, so if your child has a restriction for reasons of food intolerance, allergic reaction to the 14 recognised food allergens, and/or cultural and religious requirements, it is essential that you notify Twelve15 before they can provide a school meal. Your child will not be able to access school meals until this process is completed, even in the event of a forgotten packed lunch, so please complete this process if your child has a special dietary requirement, even if you think this may not be relevant to you.
There is a two-week lead time before a meal can be provided and this may be longer if the dietary restriction is for medical reasons, as further checks need to be made. In the meantime, you will be required to provide a packed lunch from home for your child.

Children choosing to have a packed lunch eat alongside the children eating a school meal and we encourage parents to ensure that packed lunches contain a healthy meal. Sweets, sugary drinks and glass containers are not permitted.
No nut products are permitted due to allergies within school.
Parents can order a carton of milk for their child each day for a subsidised fee from the company, Cool Milk. Children under 5 and those eligible for free school meals do not need to pay.
