Big Safety Message Delivery!

A team from Wincanton Logistics spent a morning at St James Primary with one of their Wickes 18 tonne Hi-Ab delivery vehicles. The visit was initiated by the local team at Wincanton to raise awareness of the common factors that contribute to child casualties when moving on and around roads, particularly when out with friends or commuting independently to school. 

All the children were able to experience the "Driver's viewpoint" (even brand new lorries fitted with cameras have blind spots) see and understand the science behind the remotely operated hydraulics, discuss Maths and DT topics with real- life examples.

The lorry arrived with soil, fencing and kick boards for our Forest School Outdoor Learning Area which were all generously donated Wickes Building Supplies.
