Bake Off 2024 - Round One

The St James Bake Off returned this week and, once again, our young bakers WOWED US!

Round one commenced with the children baking at home, and bringing their bakes in for judging - first in their houses within their class, before the favourites headed into the staffroom for more judging to decide on house finalists. 

Every year it's really tricky, but a winner and a wildcard from each house was eventually selected (some cakes had to be tried several times - just to check how delicious they were!).

The Grand Final of The Bake Off is next week and then the staff will attempt their own bakes on the last week of term which will be judged solely by the School Council.

The finalists are announced below, alongside some images of just a handful of our favourites. This year's theme is 'Animal Crazy' (as selected by the School Council), and as you can see, we received some crazy animals!
